All Scouts in Australia commit to a code of living as expressed in the Promise and Law.

The Scouting program is designed to help members to learn how to keep their Promise.  One of the most important aspects of the Scout Law is that members voluntarily undertake to live by it.  In the younger age sections, the law is simplified commensurate to with age of the young people.

The Australian Scout Promise

There are two versions of the Scout Promise, either of which may be chosen by the individual.

On My honour, I promise
To do my best,
To be true to my spiritual beliefs,
To contribute to my community and to our world,
To help other people,
And to live by the Scout Law

On my honour,
I promise that I will do my best,
To do my duty to my God, and
To the Queen of Australia
To help other people,
And to live by the Scout Law.

The Australian Scout Law

Be Respectful

Be friendly and considerate.
Care for others and the environment.

Do What is Right

Be trustworthy, honest and fair.
Use resources wisely.

Believe in Myself

Learn from my experiences.
Face challenges with courage.

Wear it with pride

Our registered colours:

  • Base = Sky blue
  • Band one = Brown
  • Band two = Yellow

The legend of our Group scarf:

  • Blue background represents the rivers surrounding Bangor. It was also the base colour for the old Como District, representing the rivers in the Como/Menai area. We are now in the Yaroona District that uses the same base colour.
  • Brown represents the earth between the rivers.
  • Yellow represents the sun that sustains life.
  • Brown and yellow are traditional Bangor colours that are also used by the local Bangor school, soccer and football groups.

Group scarf (new or replacements) are provided at cost price.

Meetings are not normally held during School Holidays.
