Group Family Camp

18-20 November 2005

Thanks to our Group Leader Brian Collins for organising the Group Family camp to Cataract Scout Park. The Park offered large grassy campsites for the families to spread out and setup their tents. Every Section was represented throughout the weekend and some Joeys, Cubs and Scouts camped overnight with their families.

Saturday morning began with activities by the Kangaroos and games by the Joeys. The Venturers ran a crate stacking activity and horizontal bungy that got some wet on a hot afternoon. After dinner we toasted marshmallows over the campfire.

Thanks Venturers!

Sunday morning was cool and cloudy. The Scouts ran some compass trail activities and then after morning tea we went to the water slide and despite the ice-cold water it was very popular.

The parents braved the ice water for a good time too!

The pack-up after lunch went quickly with everyone helping to put away the large dinning fly and at closing ceremony we thanked everyone for joining in.
